County to Reorganize on Wed, Oct. 22
Democrats are organized in every corner of Franklin County:
Town committees are small civic organizations of 3+ town voters. They take part in social and civic life, nominate Justices of the Peace, and conduct Party elections ("Reorganization") every other year. Members of each town committee serve as town representatives on the County Committee.
County committees are county-wide workgroups tasked with Party administration. They have subcommittees tasked with specific work, like budgets or communication or organizing. Members of the County Committee serve as county representatives on the Vermont Democratic Party State Committee.
Community Caucuses are affinity groups formed to advocate and organize around a region, issue, or identity group.
Bylaws are rules that govern how our Party structure is maintained and operated. They describe the roles, responsibilities, and procedures necessary to conduct Party business fairly and effectively. If county-level bylaws don't address a particular issue or procedure, defer to the Vermont Democratic Party bylaws. If rules conflict, defer to state bylaws.
